- Thaw frozen berries. Mash them with a potato masher.
- Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan, boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Pour through strainer and push as much of the mixture through the strainer as possible using a large spoon to strain out berry seeds and large pieces of berry skin. Discard berry seeds and skin.
- Cool strained liquid in ice bath or put in fridge or freezer until very cold.
- Freeze in ice cream freezer.
