Cara Cara Orange Ice Cream

Ingredients
  

Orange Flavor
  • Juice of 3 whole fresh Cara Cara oranges (= 354 g)
  • ΒΌ cup Sugar (=48g)
  • 1/8 tsp pure orange oil
  • 1 drop Yellow food color (Optional)
  • 1 drop Red food color (Optional)
Ice Cream Base Mix
  • 1 cup Whole milk (=240 g)
  • 2 Whole pasteurized eggs (Large eggs)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar (=144 g)
  • Dash Salt
  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream (=444 g, add later)

Instructions
 

Orange Flavor
  1. Juice the Cara Cara oranges, then strain the juice.
  2. Put all Orange Flavor ingredients in blender.
Ice Cream Base Mix
  1. Add base mix ingredients except whipping cream to the orange flavor ingredients in the blender. Blend on High for 1 minute.
  2. Add whipping cream. Blend on Medium setting for 30 seconds.
  3. Freeze in ice cream machine.
