Orange Vanilla Ice Cream

Everyone remembers licking a Creamsicle, the orange sherbet covered vanilla ice cream treat on a stick. This orange cream flavor ice cream, paired with vanilla ice cream, has a very similar flavor and brings back lots of memories.

Notes

The Fiori Di Sicilia is available from from King Arthur Flour or others.
Adding the red and yellow food color to make the ice cream orange is optional but makes it stand out from the vanilla flavor ice cream and makes the combination very reminiscent of a Creamsicle.
We replaced the usual 3/4 cup sugar in our ice cream base mix for this recipe with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup light corn syrup to make the orange cream flavor ice cream less icy and taste not quite so sweet.
